The video was the earliest version on social media, and posted with high resolution (1080p), indicating it was original. The video was the first video to be uploaded on the account. The account is named for the third brigade of the Murtadi Abdul Sattar Force, which is affiliated with the Iraqi Federal Police.

The video was posted to a YouTube account in the name of a brigade fighting in Mosul and affiliated with the Iraqi Federal Police. The brigade was described as being under the control of Maj Murtadi Abdul Sattar. A person by that name was described in some Facebook posts as being affiliated with the Iraqi Federal Police in Mosul. See here and here.

The uniforms seen in the video match those of the Iraqi Federal Police.

The location of the video was described as Mosul. The people in the video speak with an Iraqi accent. Iraqi forces said at the time they were in complete control of east Mosul.

The exaction location in eastern Mosul has not been determined; however, the electricity pylons seen in the video (for example, at 29’’ and 1’28’’) are in use in that part of the city (see here and here, for example).

The video was shared on January 25. Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said that east Mosul was completely recaptured from IS by January 24.
